Salt, Matt Short, Peter Siddle, Billy Stanlake, Cameron Valente, Jake
Weatherald, Jon Wells, Cameron White
– Strikers have named a 13-man squad with three debutants for their first
game of the season. They have signed English batsman Philip Salt this year
while Cameron White and fast bowler Harry Conway will play for strikers this
season.
– They had a forgettable last season with only 6 wins out of 14 matches, also
they will miss the service of their skipper Travis Head due to national duty.
– Alex Carey will open the innings along with Jake Weatherald. Both are
technically strong batsmen and can play in attacking nature at any time.
Alex Carey’s recent form is not so good but still, he is the best batsman of
the team while Weatherland is coming after scoring century in their domestics.
– Phil Salt and Cameron White are expected to bat at no. 3 and 4
respectively. Salt is a hit or miss type player but he was in amazing form during T20 blast while playing for Sussex. His T20 career strike rate is 154. Cameron White is also an
experienced T20 player but his current form is not so promising.
– Jonathan Wells and Matthew Short will do late hitting duty. Both are really
good hitter of the ball. Rashid Khan and C Valente are also very good hitters and can be
promoted up the order anytime.
– Peter Siddle and Billy Stanlake will take care of their pace department
along with H Conway while C Valente will assist them. All 3 are
wicket-taking bowlers. Siddle relay on his variation and line-length while Stanlake will
depend on his pace and bounce. Harry Conway was in good form in the ODD cup matches.

Short will assist him. Rashid Khan is currently no.1 T20 bowler according to
ICC rankings and is a wicket-taking bowler of this format while Short is an average spinner.
