- They have announced a young and exciting squad, they are struggling in test cricket after the retirement of senior players likes of AB and Dale Steyn. Now experienced Philander is also saying goodbye to internationals.
- Rassie van der Dussen and D Pretorious will make their debut in this game.
- Faf du Plessis has confirmed 10 out of 11 players while for 11th player can be anyone from Anrich Nortje and Dane Paterson.
- Dean Elgar will open the innings along with Aiden Markram. Both are technical players. Elger was in good form in recent Mzansi and in the last series while Markram failed badly in the series against India.
- Zubayr Hamza will bat at 3, he is playing his 3rd international game. He was in good form in their domestic games and is rated as a very good test player.
- Faf du Plessis, their best batsman in the team will bat at 4. He is a technically strong batsman. He performed averagely in Mzansi.
- Rassie van der Dussen and Quinton de Kock will take care of their middle order. In these QDK and RV Dussen are very good players. De Kock is an attacking batsman but he is a consistent performer of this format while the team will hope that Dussen to play well in this format also like the limited-overs matches.
