• South Africa will take this series for  experimentation purpose. They have included A Nortje in squad while H Amla is rested.
• Srilanka  is looking inexperienced side but they will not take them lightly after seeing their defeat in test series.
• Q De Kock and Reeza Hendricks are expected to open the inning.Both are very talented and attacking batsman. Reeza Hendricks is looking in terrific form from last series while Q De Kock generally plays well and is a consistent performer of team.
• Another talented batsman RV Dussen will bat at 1 down. Like Reeza Hendricks he is also in very good form in both international and domestic arena.
• Ever reliable Faf Duplesis will bat at 2 down. He is consistent performer of the team and generally plays well.
• D Miller will bat next.He is very attacking batsman.He was in good form in domestic tournament but he failed badly against Pakistan.This is very crucial series for him.
• A Phehlukvayo will bat next. He is in terrific form with bat. He scored consistently in 70s in momentum odi cup and also played well against Pakistan.
• Any one of D Pretorious /W Mulder will play. Both are decent batsman.
• Imran Tahir will lead the spin attack of the team.He is a leg spinner and is a good bowler.
• Kagiso Rabada,L Ngidi and D Steyn will lead the pace attack while W Mulder/D Pretorius and A Phehlukvayo will assist them. Rabada is rated as one of the best fast bowler while Steyn is looking at his best again since last year.
• Ngidi is back after injury , he is also a wicket taker bowler .
• A Phehlukvayo also bowls well.

• Srilanka team registered unexpected series victory against South Africa in test .As they have achieved that feat with an inexperienced side so their confidence will be skyhigh.
• Akila Dhananjay is back with a modified action ,He is expected to play this match.
• Youngsters Kamindu Mendis ,Ohado Fernando and Kamindu Mendis have good chance of making it to playing11 in this game.
• Niroshan Dickwella and any one of Upul Tharanga/Avishka Fernanado(high) will open the inning. Dickwella is in good form and is an attacking batsman while Avishka Fernando was in terrific form in A tours and in practice game.Some recent scores of Avishka Fernando are 128, 55, 89, 139, 112 and 72 and he can bowl also so it will be hard to ignore him.
• Kusal Perera and Kusal Mendis are expected to bat at 1 and 2 down. Both are technically strong batsman and are very attacking batsman.Kusal Perera was in terrific form in test and has good record in ODIs also while Mendis has average reord in ODIs.
• Any 2 of Oshada Fernando/Kamindu Mendis/Dhannajay Desilva will bat next. Chances of Fernando and Kamindu Mendis are high as they get preferred of DeSilva in practice game.Fernando scored half century in warm up match.Kamindu Mendis is good spinner also.
• T Perera will do late hitting duty.He was in terrific form with bat in last series. He can get promoted any time of big hitting.
• Akila Dhananjay can bat also.He will lead the spin attack of the team along with Kamindu Mendis(slight risky). Akila is coming after a remodelled action so it will be interesting to see whether he will be  effective or not.
• Lasith Malinga and Vishwa Feranando will lead the pace attack while T Perera and  K Rajitha will assist them . V Fernando has performed well   test while L Malinga is their premier pace bowler. Malinga took 5 wicket haul in practice game.
